We have made it to the last week of school, and we have a jam packed week! The 5th grade and 8th grade are now completing the Science sessions of the MAP test. We have 8th grade promotion that will be held tomorrow night @ 6:30pm at the high school. Thursday and Friday we will wrap up all the projects and assignments, then reward the students with Survivor type games, and Class vs. Class competitions. Thank you to all who have helped and will help this week to bring the year to a close, while making it fun and memorable for our students.

We regret to inform you due to low enrollment Grandview will not be able to provide on-campus summer school this year. There will be a virtual option and the Hillsboro and De Soto school districts have agreed to accept K-8 Grandview students in their programs. Attention: This afternoon the fire alarm system was triggered in the high school. Students and staff were evacuated following safety procedures and the fire department was automatically alerted and were on the scene. After an investigation, it was found that there was not an actual fire and the students and staff were in no imminent danger. The alert system was triggered from a fault in the alarm system. The fault in the alarm system is being addressed so this event is not repeated. The administration commends the students and staff for their professionalism during the event today and appreciates the prompt and efficient action of our rescue services.

Part of House Bill 681 from last year's legislative session outlines that schools in Missouri must have one week of the school year designated as Holocaust Education Week for Grades 6-12. Today begins our Holocaust Education and Awareness Week. Our students will be learning about the Holocaust this week in their social studies classes (Mrs. Dugan and Mrs. Rotter).
