🏀 Join Us for the 1st Annual Grandview R-II Hoop Shoot! 🏀 Get ready for an evening of fun, family, and friendly competition at Grandview Elementary's first-ever Hoop Shoot, sponsored by the Elks! Mark your calendars and bring the whole family: 📅 Date: November 18th 🕕 Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM 📍 Location: Grandview Elementary Gym This exciting event is open to students ages 8-13! 🏆 Age divisions (8-9, 10-11, and 12-13) will allow each student a fair shot at the prize. Participants will have a 10-minute warm-up time, 5 warm-up shots, and then two rounds of shooting (10 and 15 shots). Don’t forget—accuracy counts, and staying behind the foul line is key! In the case of a tie, we’ll go into a 5-shot shoot-off. Bring your game and cheer on your favorite shooter! See you there! 🎉 📸 Check out the attached flyer for full details.
Good News, Everyone!
Grandview will have school today, Thursday, November 7! The water has receded enough to allow safe access to campus. Please drive carefully and watch out for any remaining water or debris on the roads. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Attention Grandview R-II Families and Staff:
Due to continued flooding and closures f area roads, there will be no on-campus classes today, Wednesday November 6. This missed day will be made up at a later date, to be determined and communicated soon.
Additionally, there will be no transportation to ATS at Jeffco or Logos.
Please stay safe and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Hello Grandview Families,
The second quarter is off to a fantastic start, and there's so much to look forward to! Our first holiday party of the season kicks off this Friday, bringing some festive cheer to our school. Meanwhile, our dedicated staff is hard at work preparing for Family Literacy Night, ensuring it will be a fun and engaging experience for everyone.
We're also excited to host our first-ever Hoops Shoot in partnership with the Cedar Hill Elks, adding another great opportunity for students to shine. Through all the events and activities, our team continues to go above and beyond to support students in every way possible, every single day.

🎃 Pumpkin Patch Fun! 🎃
Our September and October Students of the Month celebrated their achievements with a special Character Award Winners Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday! 🏅 The students had an amazing time exploring, picking pumpkins, and making memories. Grandview Elementary Food Drive
To allow students and staff the opportunity to attend the services for Mr. Karl Schlett, a beloved former teacher, Grandview R-II will have an early dismissal on Friday, October 25, at 11:30 AM.
Your individual buildings will communicate any changes to events or regular procedures that will be impacted by this schedule change. Due to the structure of the 2024-2025 school calendar, the missed hours will not need to be made up.
Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Mr. Karl Schlett, a beloved former teacher of the Grandview R-II School District. Mr. Schlett dedicated many years to educating and inspiring students, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passion for teaching and his genuine care for his students made him a treasured member of the Grandview family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 11 AM – 1 PM at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1 PM at the same location.
Mr. Schlett will be laid to rest at Charter Memorial Gardens.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the many students he touched during his time with us. Mr. Schlett's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to learn from him. Rest in peace, Mr. Schlett. You will be deeply missed. 💙
Thank you to all those who joined us for parent-teacher conferences. They were a great success, and your involvement shows incredible support for all our students. We truly appreciate your partnership in helping every child thrive!
