VIRTUAL SUMMER SCHOOL
Middle and High School General Information - Accepting Enrollments until July 1, 2025
Thank you for showing an interest in our Missouri Online Summer Institute (MOSI).
The program begins on May 20, 2025, and the final deadline for submitting work is July 11, 2025, at 11:01 PM. The last day to enroll in a course is July 1, 2025.
We offer over 90 courses for original credit, credit recovery, and Honors Courses (available upon counselor request). Students are limited to enrolling in four semesters or two full credits. All core classes consist of two semesters, similar to the regular school year. Students have the flexibility to enroll in either one semester or a two-semester course.
Credit Recovery courses require a school counselor to complete the MOSI Course Approval Form and return it to Grandview R2 High School before the student can start. This form is available on the Virtual School page of our website: https://www.grandviewr2.com/page/virtual-summer-school
End-of-Course (EOC) courses (Biology, Algebra I, English II, and Civics/American Government) are available only with counselor approval. The counselor must email Elaine Schlett at schlette@grandviewr2.org to confirm approval.
Students can complete coursework from any location with an internet connection. Upon starting a course, they must first complete an orientation, which includes a course syllabus with due dates to help them stay on track. Students can progress through the course at their own pace, but all work must be completed by July 11, 2025, at 11:01 PM. Any incomplete work will receive a 0% grade and affect the overall course grade. Some students finish semester-long courses in as little as 2-3 weeks by working consistently throughout the day, while others take the full time available.
Teachers and mentors are available via email at any time. Additionally, students can call mentors with questions Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Tests are not proctored, which is why we do not offer End-of-Course (EOC) courses unless approved by a school counselor.
Most courses are taught by our teachers, with the remainder provided by our partner company using Missouri-certified teachers.
MOSI is a free virtual summer school program open to all students in grades 6-12 in Missouri, including those from home-schooled, private, or public backgrounds. However, students cannot enroll in both MOSI and another summer school program in the same summer, as per Section 167.227 RSMO.
If you have any questions, please contact Elaine Schlett at 636-944-3390 Option 4 or by email at schlette@grandviewr2.org.
