ATTENDANCE

Grandview is striving to improve our daily attendance. Regular school attendance is very important for academic and social success of children. We need your help to accomplish this goal. If your child is absent, please let us know and if a visit to a doctor occurs bring in the paper documentation.

We will keep you informed of absences and tardies through letters, phone calls and conferences. A conference will be requested if excessive absences and/or tardies occur. The school day begins at 8:00 and ends at 3:07.  Please follow this schedule as closely as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

NEWS FROM THE COUNSELOR – Ms Abbenhaus

CITIZENSHIP: Being law abiding and involved in service to school, community and country.

The character word we will be focusing on during the month of September is Citizenship. I will be visiting the classrooms to discuss the importance of following the rules and staying safe.

Classroom Schedule:
            Sept. 7 – 9       Kindergarten and 1st grade
            Sept. 14 – 17   2nd and 3rd grades
            Sept. 21 – 23   4th and 5th grades

HOME SUGGESTIONS: Ask your child to tell you some of the rules at school and home. This is a great opportunity to learn how much your child knows about being safe.

Bus Safety: The Kindergarten and first graders attended a bus safety class this week. Mrs. Wombacher, a Grandview bus driver, taught the classes rules on the bus, ways to stay safe, and emergency procedures.
